More than just Consultants.

Andrew Jago
Andrew Jago
Principal Adviser
Andrew Jago is the driving force behind Artisan Advisers, bringing a unique blend of financial acumen, strategic insight, and hands-on business experience. His journey in business advisory began as a CPA in a regional accounting practice, where he quickly identified his “superpower”: a natural talent for problem-solving and connecting individuals to help business owners achieve both professional success and a better quality of life.
His career led him to Brisbane, where he established the Queensland operations for a blue chip global superannuation consulting firm, becoming one of two Australian Regional Managers. In this role, he engaged with hundreds of financial services businesses, further honing his flair for business strategy and complex problem-solving.
Andrew has walked in your shoes as a business owner himself, serving as the COO responsible for the substantial growth of the Wandoan Accommodation Park in Central Queensland. This direct experience provides him with invaluable real-life understanding of the challenges and opportunities faced by business principals – including negotiating at C-suite level with a multinational resources company.
Before fully dedicating himself to Artisan Advisers, Andrew contributed his strong business and artisanal sector expertise to SRJ Walker Wayland. Artisan Advisers was ultimately founded to provide focused, full-time business advisory, strategic planning, and business coaching, with a particular passion for the artisanal industries.
When he’s not guiding clients through a strategy session or conducting a business health check, Andrew is a dad to four young men and regularly applies his resilience and negotiating skills as a Rugby referee.
Artisan Advisers Alliance // Our Circle of Trust
Our clients’ success isn’t just measured by how we work with them – it’s leveraged by working with other professionals with complementary skills.
These include accounting and tax, liquor licensing and compliance, and industry equipment consultancy to name a few.
RSA Liquor Professionals
Russell Steele is well known in Queensland for his deep knowledge of the liquor licensing regime for small producers. We recently worked with Russell on a complex excise (ATO) and licensing (Qld Liquor and Gaming) scenario for Last Man Standing, which took over the shuttered Newstead Brewing site near Suncorp Stadium.

Well Brew’d
We’ve worked with Anthony and Lachy for a number of years, and have collaborated with them on a number of client engagements. In 2017, Andrew worked with Lachy – with some additional assistance from Dave Ward at Aether Brewing – to develop a batch-by-batch calculator for the R&D process in craft brewing. This has enabled many breweries to easily access the R&D Tax Incentive grants, which has netted in excess of $1.5 million in tax benefits for our clients.
SRJ Walker Wayland
We’re business advisers, and while we certainly have long experience and capability in accounting, tax and corporate structuring, we know SRJWW does a great job in this area and we have many mutual clients. At the Sunshine Coast, we liaise with Katrina and her team, while Troy Green is our “go-to” in Brendale.

Independent Brewers Association
We’re members of the IBA, and work with the IBA to support the independent craft beer makers. And while we aren’t political – we can’t help but love what the Copperlode crew is doing with Bob Katter
